Facebook and Instagram collect data on people under the age of 18 with software that tracks users' web browsing activity.

This claim was made in a new study .

The company, which owns social media platforms, announced in July 2021 that it would allow advertising companies to target younger users based solely on age, gender and location.

But researchers say Facebook and Instagram are still using software called Conversion APIs, which collects details of young people's web browsing activities.

Meta, the company that owns Facebook and Instagram, has denied that the data was used for the company's algorithm-based advertising delivery system to deliver ads to users under the age of 18.

The study was conducted by experts from the environmental group Global Action Plan, Reset Australia and Fairplay.

In an open letter to Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, the 44 advocacy groups called for an end to the company's data-gathering practice as the details could be used for surveillance advertising.

The letter said that such a system does not lead to any improvement in children and, contrary to Facebook's claim, data on younger users is still being collected to determine which child might be interested in an ad. Is.

During the study, 3 fictitious Facebook accounts were created, one of which showed 13 years and the other 16 years.

With the help of these accounts, researchers were able to view the data collected by the company's software on Facebook, Instagram and Messenger.

Researchers have discovered that Facebook can collect data from other tabs and pages open in its browser and also collect various details, such as which buttons were clicked, without any reason to allow such data from the company. Gathering is justified, except for the advertising system.

On the other hand, a spokesperson for Meta said that this is incorrect because we have shown the data in our transparency tools, we have shown the data to advertisers and partner websites and apps to people under the age of 18. Not used for advertising.

The spokesperson said that the reason why these details are visible in our transparency tools is that the younger users visit the sites or apps that use our business tools.

Instagram recently introduced short videos called feature releases to attract tick tock users.

Now 2 new features are being added for Instagram Reels which are already very popular in Tik Tak.

The photo-sharing app, owned by Meta (Facebook's new name), hopes that those who are reluctant to use Rails due to the unavailability of these features will be able to become part of the platform.

One of these features is text-to-speech feature that allows robotic voiceover for videos.

In this feature, when a user types text on his video, he will get the facility of an auto generated voice which will read the text aloud.

In addition, a feature called Voice Effects for Rails has been introduced which will allow the creators to change their voice.

For this purpose they will have several options available and they will be able to change their voice to their liking.

Instagram recently introduced a series of short videos called Session Rails to counter tick-tock.

The company has now announced that it will extend the duration of videos that were previously limited to 30 seconds.

The video-sharing app, owned by Facebook, announced the change on its Twitter account

Instagram is also adding caption stickers to rails that will turn audio into text-based captions.

This way users will be able to watch the video of the rails without sound.

The new feature will only be available in a few English-speaking countries, but will soon be introduced in other languages and countries by Instagram.

The length of Rails videos on Instagram has been increased since TickTalk increased the length of its video news from one minute to three minutes in July 2021.

The new change to Instagram will also be welcome for in-tick talk users who want to post their long tick-tack videos on their Instagram accounts.

Initially, only 15-second videos could be posted on Instagram Rails, but in  September 2020, this  was extended to 30 seconds .

The purpose of this change was to give creators more freedom to create content.

In September 2020, the time of the Times was also increased to 10 seconds.

Similarly, users can cut or delete a clip from a video, which will go a long way in improving a video.

which is not strange. That no one was able to send in the perfect solution.

It is believed that Instagram had introduced Tick-tock replicas around the world in August 2020, while a similar new addition was made by YouTube in the form of shorts.

Instagram, Facebook's photo and video sharing application, has begun testing a key feature for the desktop.

According to The Verge, Instagram is testing the feature of posting photos and videos through a web browser on a desktop computer.

The feature was viewed on a limited scale by social media consultant Matt Nora, who also shared some screenshots.

This feature is still available on a limited scale with some filters introduced.

Keep in mind that Instagram has been slow to introduce features on its web app, especially on desktops.

The direct messaging feature on Instagram was also available last year.

However, some social media professionals who use Instagram for their day-to-day work have had to use third-party tools for desktop posts because in some things mobile access alone is not enough.
