#Old_smartphones do not sell without this precaution

Old smartphones do not sell without this precaution

Want to sell or replace your old mobile phone with a new device?  Using the data correctly can prevent personal data from going into the wrong hands.

Remember that it is not possible to destroy 100% of a phone and its storage is 100% foolproof, meaning it is possible to recover data with the right tools.

Here you will learn how to clean data before selling Android phone.

 First of all
Back up all data, including contacts, which will prevent valuable images from being stored, but will also make this information available to you in the new phone, allowing you to restore apps, contacts, and other data.
IPhone users: If you've signed up for iCloud, it's highly likely that your phone's data is automatically saved, which you can check by going to Settings, your name, iCloud and iCloud backup.  You can do this on or off, but if the service has limited storage then it is best to do it manually in iTunes on your computer.
Android users: Every Android phone is different (because many companies manufacture these phones) so backups have to be taken care of, as these devices already have contacts, calendars and similar data from Google Accounts.  Signed out and automatically backed up, which you can see by going to Settings, Systems, and Backups.  App data, call history, device settings, photos and text messages are automatically backed up to these phones.

 De-register your accounts
Before deleting everything, you should de-register yourself in different accounts of your phone so that the new owner of the phone does not have problems re-activating it and you cannot track the location of this phone after the sale.

IPhone users: Click on Settings, your name and sign out, this will delete your account from the device and make it possible for the new owner to activate the phone from his account.

Android users: Most Android users do not experience this kind of activation of their account on old phones, but it is a good idea to sign out of Google Account and reset before selling your phone.  To do this, click on the Remote Account button by clicking on Settings, User & Accounts and your Google Account. In Samsung, you can go to Settings, Accounts, Samsung Account and delete the Samsung account in the three dot menu in the corner.  Select an account.

 Safely clear your data
When you're sure everything is backed up, be ready to delete the data from your device, but it needs to be done so that the new owner of the phone won't be able to retrieve your personal information.

When you delete a file from your phone or computer, it does not actually disappear, the device simply makes its space free by overwriting other data, but no recently available recovery software  Can recover deleted files.

This is why encrypting your devices is so important, especially when you are going to sell a device.

IPhone users: The iPhone has long been encrypted by default and you can't even turn it off, so if you have an iPhone, click on Settings, General and Reset to safely delete data.  Please select All Content and Settings when the process is completed the Welcome screen will appear on the phone which you will have seen after purchasing the phone.

Android users: Many Android devices are now encrypted but depend on the age of the companies and the device, so a few extra steps are required before data can be loaded on the Android phones.

First look at Settings, Security and then Encryption Settings, if there is a saying that your phone is encrypted, then start the process by clicking on the encrypted phone.

It may take a few hours but when they are done, be ready to blow up the data, which is possible through settings, system reset options and then all data or factory reset.

If you have an older Android phone that may not have the encryption option, then after resetting your phone, also clear the phone's free space using an app such as iShredder 5, after which  Factory reset again.

Log out of all services such as email and social media and then clear their data, if possible.

Be sure to keep this phone's serial number in your records.

 Overwrite data to be deleted
So now that you have encrypted and done a factory reset and deleted everything, then overwrite it with some kind of useless data to make this data acquisition even more impossible.

Go to the setup of your device for this, but not sign in with any Google Account this time, record a high resolution video as long as the setup comes up as a new user.  Repeat this process and fill in as much space as possible. Then do a factory reset again.

 Repeat this process
If you are most worried, repeat the above tips several times to make sure that the data is definitely deleted and no one can recover it.

 Take care of this too
Needless to say, but before selling the phone, take out your SIM card and SD card, after which clean the phone thoroughly with soft and dry cloth.
